Home Studies

A home study is a legal document that verifies that the house and family wanting to receive a child for adoption or custody is adequate for a child to be placed in it. This consists of an interview, background checks, references, and financial documentation to ensure the overall wellbeing of the prospective adoptive parents and household.

Yes. A home study is required before any local or international adoption.

Generally, a home study is required during custody cases in which a family member is involved. Please follow the advice of your lawyer as to whether you need a home study and post placement service.

Any individual who is going to be living within the same household as the prospective child will need to be present during the home study. This includes all children and adults.

Although grandparents may not always be required to have a home study when adopting a grandchild, when the DCF is involved, or the grandchild is out of state a home study is generally required.

We have a well proven system from our years of completing home studies in which aids us in completing our home studies faster.

Yes. We are licensed in the state of Florida for residents of Florida. Our home studies are accepted in all 50 states by the (ICPC Interstate compact). We are not able to conduct any international adoptions at this point.

No. The U.S government has altered the rules so that domestic agencies can no longer complete international home studies.
